Start preparing your application as early as possible! Here is a guide to help you complete your Scholarship App stress-free and on time. (Hint: add these items to your personal calendar)

1 Starting in early fall: Begin searching and selecting scholarship opportunities online at Scholarship-App.aspx. Return to the online catalog often - new scholarships are added through February.

First-time applicants: set up your Student Profile and begin the OSAC online application.

Returning applicants: refresh and update your application from the previous year.

NEW! High school juniors may begin a “basic application” by selecting their graduation year in the Scholarship App. Juniors cannot submit their Scholarship App until their year of graduation.

2 November:  The OSAC application may be submitted November through March 1. (Applications - may be started and saved before this date). However, you must submit your Scholarship App with correct transcripts.
3 December:  Continue to search and select new scholarships that have been recently added to the online scholarship catalog at Scholarship-App.aspx or when you reach Section 13 of your Scholarship App.
4 January: File your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Doing so will ensure you are considered for all scholarships that may or may not consider financial need.
  • In Section 16 of your App, download a request form and give it to your high school or college Registrar’s office for transmitting your transcript directly to OSAC, or scan a copy (unofficial) and upload to your Scholarship App.
Finalize your Scholarship App (Activities Chart, Personal Statements, and scholarship-specific essays).
5 February 16: Early bird priority review deadline & opportunity to win a $500 scholarship. Submit your completed Scholarship App for a priority review and chance to make corrections.
6 March 1: Final deadline for submitting your Scholarship App to OSAC.

After submitting your Scholarship App

7 Log-in to your Student Profile and check your Scholarship App status for the message: “Valid Scholarship App Accepted.” If you see “Review Pending,” keep checking back. If you see “App problem,” read the instructions and submit corrections by the deadline date.
8 Be sure to keep your Scholarship App address, phone, e-mail, college choice, and college major updated. This may affect your eligibility for some scholarships. OSAC will save your Scholarship App in your Student Profile so that you may edit and resubmit it next year. (Transcripts, scholarship essays and other uploaded documents will not be saved)
9 Beginning in April, you can track scholarships you applied for to see if you were awarded, accept, or decline scholarship awards, or update your personal information.
